Husam Jaber and his father Muhammad Jaber were pronounced winners of the Kia Mascot Friends Competition, organized by National Arab Motors (Kia Jordan) as part of a series of initiatives that Kia Motors Corporation is licensed by FIFA to organize in various parts of the globe during the 2010 World Cup season.
The two winners won a free trip to South Africa to attend the match held between New Zealand and Slovakia, which was held during the first round of the World Cup.
Kia Jordan had organized this competition to present children between the ages of 8 and 14 with the opportunity to accompany the official mascot of the 2010 World Cup – the famed South African “Zukami” on the field before kick-off. Children interested in entering the competition were asked to visit Kia’s showroom in Mecca Street with one of their guardians and to make an appointment to enjoy test-driving one of Kia’s vehicles and take pictures with a replica of the Zukami mascot. These pictures were uploaded via Kia Jordan’s website at www.kiajordan.com or received fully-framed at the showroom.
“We are pleased to make a child’s dream of attending one of the matches of the World Cup come true, particularly when it comes as part of an exhilarating experience as the one provided by the Kia Mascot Friends competition,” said Kia Jordan’s Vice Chairman Nihad Zacharia. “Kia Jordan consistently organizes creative and vibrant initiatives inspired by global sports events as part of its longstanding commitment to fostering a culture of athletic awareness.”
