Iran's President Mohammad Khatami has vowed to do "everything possible" to deliver "free and fair" parliamentary elections in February, in spite of his failure to push through a key electoral reform bill, the official IRNA news agency reported.
"We have to give people the assurance that their votes will be respected," Khatami was quoted as telling a gathering in Andimeshk on Tuesday.
The President added the run-up to the February 20, 2004 elections was a "very sensitive historical juncture". (Albawaba.com)
