Iran's former president Mohammad Khatami has called for a nationwide referendum on the legitimacy of the government to end the country's post-election crisis. According to the AP, Khatami's proposal was reported by several reformist Web sites on Monday.
Khatami added Iranians have lost their faith in the current political system following last month vote. “If the majority of people accept the situation, we also will accept it,” Khatami said, Web sites reported.
