Iranian President Mohammad Khatami on Sunday appointed his younger brother, Ali Khatami, as head of the presidential office, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA.
"With due recognition of your competency, experience and
knowledge, I hereby appoint you manager of all affairs concerning the Presidential Office," part of the order read.
Mohammad Ali Abtahi was the former head of the office, said IRNA.
Khatami was re-elected by a landslide in June, but has had to fend off conservatives in the court system who oppose his far-reaching reform program – Albawaba.com
