Head of Afghan Interim Government Hamid Karzai is to arrive in Tehran on Sunday at the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation for an official visit.
During his three-day stay, Karzai will have meetings
with top Iranian officials and exchange views with them on
regional issues, including return of Afghan refugees residing in Iran to their country, political and economic cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
That will be the first visit of Karzai to Tehran after formation of interim government in Afghanistan, reported IRNA. Karzai is to visit Tehran despite the US accusations that Iran interferes in Afghan internal affairs.
Kharrazi to Germany
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi
is scheduled to arrive in Germany for a two-day visit on February 26, the daily Berliner Morgenpost reported Saturday.
He is due to meet with German leaders to discuss the recent
developments in Afghanistan and the ongoing anti-terror campaign.
Kharrazi's trip is a prelude to a visit by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mehdi Karroubi who is expected to arrive in Germany on March 7, according to Iranian parliamentary sources. (Albawaba.com)
