Egyptian actor Kamal El Shinnawi will soon start telling his life’s story to Egyptian television for a yet-to-be produced biography series on the actor’s 50 year showbiz career.
According to ‘Al Ahram’ daily newspaper, the actor wants to show the world how the Egyptian film industry has changed dramatically to the worse since its inception.
In it’s early years and before the Egyptian Monarchy was demolished, Egyptian cinema was rich with culture and arts; devoid of any stereotypes. However, all that changed and the screen became a propaganda machine.
Meanwhile, the actor also stated that he has instructed the writer not to brandish or tarnish any reputation, adding that what is personal to a star, should remain personal and should never become open for public discussions.
Meanwhile, Shinnawi said that contrary to what some have speculated, the reasons behind this made-for-TV biography are not financial. In fact, he emphasized that “like his other ‘old-school’ actors; he does not act for the money.”
“I do this because I want the people to know my story as it really is, without fabrication,” he added – Albawaba.com.
