ALBAWABA - The Tunisian presidency confirmed via Facebook post that President Kais Saied has sacked his finance minister Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia and appointed another person.

The post read: "President of the Republic Kais Saied decided, today, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, to appoint Ms. Mishkat Salama El Khaldi as Minister of Finance. A procession was held at Carthage Palace during which the new minister took the oath before the Head of State."

Mishkat Salama El Khaldi will be leading the country's finance ministry after a decision by Saied. The post didn't mention the real reason behind the sudden replacement of outgoing minister Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia.

Mishkat Salama El Khaldi, the new finance minister, was asked to lead a national commission to recover Tunsia's embezzled public funds.
