jumeirah group announces executive internal promotions

Jumeirah, the dynamic Dubai-based luxury international hospitality management group and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced today the internal appointment of Frank van der Post to the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Group, and Marco Nijhof as Senior Vice President, Middle East, Africa, India, Seychelles and the Maldives. Both roles will support Jumeirah’s future ambitious growth plans.

Frank van der Post joined the Jumeirah Group in November 2005 in the capacity of Senior Vice President, Americas based in New York. In his new role, Frank will be responsible for the worldwide Senior Vice Presidents, Vice President Technical Services, Group Directors of Retail, Talise spa brand, Supply Chain and Procurement, Health and Safety, and Business Excellence, reporting directly into Guy Crawford, the Group’s Chief Executive Officer. Frank came to Jumeirah from the InterContinental Hotels Group where he worked for over 20 years in various positions, including Regional Vice President Operations, Eastern US and The Caribbean and General Manager of The Barclay in New York.

Marco Nijhof joined the Jumeirah Group in June 2006 in the capacity of Senior Vice President, Gulf, based in Dubai. Marco’s regional responsibility has now been extended to include Africa, India, Seychelles and the Maldives. He is responsible for all aspects of the Group’s operations in the Gulf and the aforementioned regions, and will continue to lead the regional support team for the Group. Marco joined Jumeirah from Serena Hotels in France where he held the position of Director of Operations & Development in charge of 22 hotels in nine countries. Prior to this he served as Chief Operating Officer and Director of the Board of Boscolo International in Italy.
