Three leading Jordanian boxers said Saturday they would quit the game in protest at "the deteriorating situation at the Jordanian Boxing Federation (JBF)."
Arab gold medallists Mohammad Abu Khadejeh, Ayman Al-Nadi, along with Basil Hindawi who registered achievements on the ring at the Arab and Asian levels said in a press release yesterday that "settling personal disputes among the decision makers in the Federation, and harassment players face as a result have made it impossible for them to keep up the good work in the game."
This is only part of the story, according to the popular boxers. They also protested the JBF's decision to sack their coach Maysam Amir, replacing him with the Iraqi Jinjo, whom they described as "less qualified than Amir."
In addition, the champions complained of poor training and "lack of training camps" they needed to improve their performance.
Officials at the JBF were not available for comment. However, the issue will top the agenda at the Federation Council meeting which is expected to be held later today, Sunday. - Albawaba.com
