Jordanian parliament dissolved ahead of new election

A Royal Decree was issued Sunday dissolving the parliament as of Monday, August 20, 2007. Parliament's four-year term ended last March. A Royal Decree was also issued to carry out parliamentary elections according to law. The date of the election was not specified.

 

According to the AP, Jordan's Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit said previously that the government was preparing to hold the elections in November
