Prince Ali Ben Al Hussein, the Deputy King of Jordan received on Tuesday, envoy of the Japanese Prime Minister and vice-foreign minister Toshimitsu Motegi.
The Japanese envoy conveyed to the Jordanian Deputy King a message to King Abdullah II from Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
The message covered current regional developments as well as means of promoting relations between Jordan and Japan, an official statement said, according to KUNA.
Both sides discussed efforts being exerted by Amman to push the peace process forward and achieve security and stability in the region, in addition to the ongoing contacts of the King to reach a peaceful solution for the Iraqi crisis within international legitimacy.
In the course of the meeting, which was attended by the Royal Court chief, state minister for foreign affairs and the Japanese ambassador in Amman, Prince Ali emphasized the strong ties between Amman and Tokyo in all fields. He expressed appreciation for the support provided by Japan to Jordan to enable it to implement its economic and social programs.
Additionally, Prince Ali hailed the role played by Japan in establishing peace that serves the interests of the region's peoples.
On his part, the Japanese envoy expressed his country's interest in developments in the region as well as its keenness to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region and find a peaceful solution to the Iraqi crisis. Motegi praised efforts being exerted by Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah in this regard. (Albawaba.com)
