Jordan’s criminal court has upheld its June 1999 death sentence against two men for robbing and killing a man in Mafraq, south of Amman, in May 1998, reported the Jordan Times newspaper.
Nayef Ghassab and his brother, Ahmad, were declared guilty by the court of murdering Zu'bi Abdul Ruhman on May 25 in the Manshiet Al Sulta township.
However, a higher court overturned the verdict and asked the criminal court to sentence the two to life in prison, said the paper.
The same tribunal acquitted a third suspect, Hayel Ghassab, a third brother whom the prosecution originally charged with complicity in the murder after medical examinations proved that he was schizophrenic – Albawaba.com
