Jordan Telecom Group Restructures to Build Simpler, Smarter Services

Jordan Telecom, the Jordanian communications company, yesterday announced the integration of the operations of Jordan Telecom, MobileCom, Wanadoo and e-Dimension into a single organization with a single management structure: Jordan Telecom Group. The new, integrated company aims to make access to innovative and capable communications easier and lead to smarter services and better value for consumers.

“Our customers are a vital focus for us and we are focused on offering them services that are truly integrated to provide them with better value and easier access to the people, information and media that they want to keep in touch with,” said Laurent Mialet, CEO of Jordan Telecom Group. “By integrating these operations under a single management structure, we are bringing the strengths and capabilities of each of our four operating companies into a single, one-stop-shop operator. Together with this, Jordan Telecom Group will expand its portfolio of services in Jordan and also throughout the Middle East region.”

The move creates a unified management team Mickael Ghossein, formerly CEO of mobile operator MobileCom, has been promoted to become Executive Vice President for the Group. Mrs. Majd Shweikeh has been appointed as the CEO of MobileCom.
 “With the integration of the Group, joint strategies will pave the path toward increasing the value the customers and the services that they used to receive from their operator.” Said Mickael Ghossein, Executive Vice president of Jordan Telecom Group. “The combined and converged offers will facilitate the communication needs of customers, and will enable them to make the most of their investment. Businesses in Jordan will face a new era, where they will be able to differentiate the quality of services that will exceed international services. The business units, (Fixed, wholesale, GSM, Internet and data’s, and contents) are our priority where we will be able to develop and provide new generation best services to customers according to international standards.”

With convergence between different types of communication and media services currently driving the innovation and development of key global telecommunications markets, Jordan Telecom Group’s move intends to build better value services by combining not only the management teams of its group companies under a single team and leadership structure, but also to leverage the integration of each company’s specialization into better-value service packages available to consumers on a single service basis.

“Few years ago the competition between operators was based on prices, later value added services defined the success of the operator, but with the advancement of technologies and the development of new services, the need of simple converged solutions and services is a must.” Said Majd Shweikeh, CEO of MobileCom. “With the integration, customers will be able to benefit from simple converged advanced services which will make their live easier and further contribute in the development of their businesses.”

The Business Units comprise of Fix Services where the general manager is Nicolas Baudin, Mobile Services (MobileCom) headed by the CEO Majd Shweikeh, the wholesale headed by, Luc Savage, general manager, Internet and Datas (Wanadoo) headed by CEO Sami Smeirat, and Contents (e-dimension) headed by CEO Tamouh Khauli.
