Jordan has dispatched a flight with humanitarian aid worth $250,000 for the victims of the Algeria's worst floods in years.
A Royal Jordanian Air Force plane carried 17.5 tons of medicine, medical equipment, foodstuff and blankets to the North African country, said Abdul Salam Abbadi, the secretary general of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).
Abbadi told the Jordan Times that the “the humanitarian aid flight was organized by the JHCO in collaboration with local pharmaceutical manufacturers.”
The aid is a gesture to help ease the effects of devastating floods and mudslides which have killed hundreds of people in the north of Algeria, said Abbadi, a former minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs.
