ALBAWABA - Under the coordination of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and Royal Jordanian Air Force, Jordan has sent a relief aircraft to Libya.

The aircraft carries emergency relief aids consisting of tents, blankets, mattresses, and food parcels. The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization coordinated with the relevant authorities in Libya to have all the aid packages delivered to all areas affected by Storm Daniel and flood-hit areas and have them actually distributed to their beneficiaries from stricken mourning families.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported that Sultan Haitham bin Tarik issued Royal orders on Wednesday to send humanitarian aid to Libya to support efforts made to deal with the floods that struck eastern Libya recently, within the framework of fraternal relations between the two countries and an expression of the humanitarian role played by the Sultanate of Oman to provide relief to those affected by various natural disasters.

The United Arab Emirates has sent two aid planes carrying 150 tonnes of urgent food, relief, and medical supplies to Benina Airport in Libya to support those affected by the devastating floods caused by the heavy rains, which resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries.

The UAE's response is part of its air bridge to provide urgent relief aid to those in need and those affected by floods in Libya, WAM reported.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "The Italian government is responding immediately to requests for support for the floods in eastern Libya: an assessment team is already on its way, coordinated by our civil protection unit".

Italy's Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, also said Tuesday on X that he had offered assistance from the army for the flooded areas.
