Jordanian Minister of Planning Jawad Al Hadid has announced that the kingdom will receive an additional 172 million euros in the form of financial and technical aid during the period 2001-2004.
The official Jordan news agency Petra quoted the minister as saying an agreement was reached in this respect last week during a round of talks with representatives of the European Commission in Amman.
"The aid will be allocated to finance programs that will support privatization and the economic sector. It will also support the implementation of the Jordanian-Euro partnership and the Aqaba economic zone and provide cash transfer payments, help reform the pension fund, combat poverty and unemployment and improve water resources management," said the agency – Albawaba.com
