Jordan sentenced 12 men Sunday to prison terms ranging from 1.5 years to 3 years for planning to attack the U.S. and Israeli embassies in Amman.
According to The AP, prosecutors accused the defendants of planning attacks on the embassies plus a local hotel popular with Israeli tourists.
The 12 defendants were also accused of planning to target the home of a cultural festival director as well as a US band performing at an annual event. Four other defendants were acquitted for insufficient evidence.
