Dozens of settlers blocked the Halhoul junction near the West Bank city of Hebron on Friday. The settlers attempted to prevent Palestinian cars from passing through the junction, according to Haaretz.
Witnesses told the paper the settlers threw rocks at Palestinian cars, causing some damage but no injuries. It said that Israeli soldiers diverted Palestinian cars from the intersection and tried to disperse the settlers' demonstration without using force, the military said.
Palestinian sources reported that settlers had also blocked roads near the West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Palestinian attacks on settlers intensified after a cease-fire was declared by Israel and the PA. In the eye of the world law, settlement is illegitimate and the Palestinians consider attacks on the intruders an act of national struggle against occupation.
200,000 Jewish settlers live in the West Bank and Gaza on lands confiscated from Palestinians.
Earlier, a roadside bomb exploded Friday morning near an Israeli army patrol on the Karni–Netzarim road in the Gaza Strip. There were no injuries, Israel Radio reported – Albawaba.com
