Stressing the vital role of the Jordanian and Arab youth in the social development and the advancement of their communities, Jordan Commercial Bank (JCBank) sponsored the fifth edition of the Arab Youth Forum for Integrated Development. The Forum was held in Cairo, mid August, under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Arab League, Mr. Amr Musa.
The Forum was organized by the Society of the Arab League for Youth and Integrated Development, located in the Egyptian City, Helwan. Under the slogan “The Economical Citizenship of Arab Youth between the Current and the Anticipated“, the event was held in the Arab League Headquarters with delegates from various Arab countries.
The annually organized Forum discussed the role of the Arab youth in activating the principles of integrated Arab markets, through deliberated proposals and initiatives cited by the participants. They also suggested establishing a fund or a bank to offer loans for the youth, while at the same time inciting Arab fund raising organizations to play a pivotal role in this field.
Officials recommended finding effective resources to fund small and medium projects proposed by the youth, to help reduce the impact of economical challenges that prevent them from playing an active role in building the economy in their respective countries.
The General Manager of JCBank, H.E Dr. Jawad Al Hadid said, “JCBank is aware of the powerful capacities that the Arab youth hold. Such potentials need to be encouraged, supported and utilized for the fostering of further development within the Arab world. We saw that this Forum creates a perfect opportunity for us to realize this goal, as it presents a space for the sharing of initiatives, brain storming and generating new ideas and concepts. The event served to highlight the importance of strengthening the role of youth in nurturing long term economic and social development for our communities”.
He further added, “JCBank has been initiating a series of financial programs and initiatives over the years, offering sources of funding for social and economic programs. The programs are designed to encourage the youth to spearhead their own well-studied and practical plans, to help them maintain a sustainable source of income”.
