Jazeera Airways to boost Kuwait-Turkish trade with non-stop flights to Istanbul from KD 9 (E 19)
Kuwait and Dubai based Jazeera Airways yesterday launched its first flight to Istanbul from Kuwait in a step to help boost tourism, trade and investment between the two countries.
Speaking in the airline’s launch in Istanbul, Jazeera Airways’ Chairman and CEO, Marwan Boodai said; “We have seen a rise in business and trade between Kuwait and Turkey over the past few years led by organizations such as the National Bank of Kuwait, the Kuwait Investment Authority, Kuwait Finance House, and Global Investment House.
However, we believe that trade relations between the two countries may be further enhanced if only more frequent, affordable, non-stop flights were available, which now they are with Jazeera Airways. In fact, we look to grow Kuwait-Istanbul traffic by at least 30% by the end of this year”, Boodai added.
Jazeera Airways has a track record in increasing traffic on many of its routes, which have grown due to Jazeera Airway’s operations by double digits, such as our Kuwait-Damascus route that grew by 48% last year, and in some case by triple digits such as our Kuwait Sharm el Sheikh route, which grew at 160% last year.
Attending the event were the President of the Directorate General for Civil Aviation, Kuwait Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kuwait Minister for Finance, and Ministers from Turkey’s Departments of Tourism and Trade, as well as leading organizations working in the trade and tourism sector.
Jazeera Airways, which operates a fleet of six new Airbus A320s all fitted with signature leather seating, now flies to Istanbul on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays with fares starting from KD 9 (E19) on jazeeraairways.com.
