The third edition of the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo organized by Global Links, which will be held from December 6 – 8, 2005 at the Grand Hyatt Convention Center in Dubai, will have a strong Italian and Indian presence, with 35 companies making up the Italian pavilion and 30 companies participating in the Indian pavilion.
The participation of Chemexcil and Trifac will be the highlight of the Indian pavilion, while the Italian contingent will be led by leading associations such as AMAB (Marche), IMC (Istituto Mediterraneo Di Certificazione), CCPB (Consorzio Per Il Controllo Dei Prodotti Biologici) and Prober (Associazione Produtiori Biologici). Italy will be making its debut in the expo this year and will showcase a range of organic food and beverages, including Bio Pizza and pasta from leading Italian companies.
Dr. Mukesh Rajani, General Manager, Global Links India, said, “India has a rich tradition of producing herbal products, especially in the field of medicine, which is reflected in the large participation of ayurvedic and pharma companies at the exhibition. The popularity of alternative medicine is growing slowly but steadily across the world, and this will be evident during the expo. The state and central governments in India have constantly supported manufacturers of organic and natural products, which has contributed to the growth of this sector.”
Chemexcil, which is participating in the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo for the second time, was set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. Another second time participant at the expo is Trifac, a Government of Madhya Pradesh Undertaking. Other reputed companies that will be a part of the Indian pavilion include Shree Baidyanath Ayurved Bhavan Private Limited, Charak Pharma Private Limited, Lupin Limited, Sir Naturals and Radico.
Radico, which is participating in the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo for the third time, will showcase their range of herbal hair colours. The company will be launching a 100 per cent natural permanent hair colour, which is the first of its kind in the world. In addition, Radico will introduce a henna and herbal based hair colour cream and a 100 per cent natural hair treatment and skin care cream.
“The participation of Italy this year will be a major attraction for visitors to the show as the Italian companies will display an interesting array of natural and organic food products and beverages, including a 100 per cent organic variety of pizza and pastas which Italy is famous for,” said Marco Rossi, OPR.
“We welcome the Italian contingent to this year’s exhibition and we are certain that they will have an extremely fruitful debut,” said Girish Dabrai, Managing Director, Global Links. “Participation of countries such as Italy adds to the vibrancy of the event as visitors will be exposed to a whole new range of specialised products.”
The prominent Italian companies at the upcoming expo, feature Alinor Spa, Dettori Honey, Olio del Molino, Prometeo and Quality Bio. Alinor Spa specialises in the production of diary products and vegetable beverages; Olio del Molino produces extra virgin olive oil, flavoured oils and olive creams; while Prometeo processes cereals and legumes produced by the organic farmers of central Italy.
The Italian and Indian pavilions will occupy about 200 square meters each of the exhibition area. The other pavilions at the three-day expo will include Germany, France, Greentrade, Australia, U.S.A., East Africa, Asia Pacific and the United Kingdom, presenting visitors a diverse display of natural and organic products. The Australian pavilion with 25 companies, the German pavilion with 16 companies and the Asia Pacific pavilion with 17 companies will also have a significant showcase of natural and organic products during the exhibition.
The expo will witness participation from countries such as Malaysia, Spain, Indonesia, Portugal, Morocco, Pakistan, Sweden, Netherlands, Holland, Canada, Mexico, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Zambia, Belgium, Nairobi, Iran and Russia. Product profile of the pavilions at the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo, will include Food & Beverages, Beauty & Cosmetics, Alternative Therapies, Treatment & Remedies, Health & Nutritional Products, and Herbal Products.
The Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo, organized by Global Links will be held under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries and the Ministry of Health, with the co-operation of the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). The event brings together manufacturers, producers and distributors of natural and organic products including cosmetics, organic food, baby care, aromatherapy, yoga, naturopathy, food and beverage, natural juices, dairy products, music, herbal remedies and energy substitutes.
“The popularity of the Middle East Natural and Organic Products Expo is reflected by the fact that the show has achieved a 100 per cent growth this year, attracting over 250 exhibitors from 50 countries. In addition, over 9000 visitors comprising buyers, importers, distributors and wholesalers from all over the Middle East, the Pan Arab region, the Indian sub continent, the Levant region, North Africa and CIS countries are expected to be part of the show,” concluded Dabrai.
