Israeli troops fired shots at West Bank protesters on Friday, the AFP reported. The shots were fired in response to stones thrown by several young protesters.

One 17 year-old protestor was injured by a shot to the ankle. He was transported to the hospital immediately.

Over one hundred Palestinians attended the protest at the Jalazun refugee camp located north of Ramallah in the West Bank.

The protests occurred in ahead of Tuesday's parliamentary election in Israel. Polls predict a tight race between the Likud party of current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the center-left Zionist Union party led by Isaac Herzog.
