An Israeli settler was killed and his wife suffered serious wounds in a shooting attack Friday north of the West Bank city of Ramallah.
The two were ambushed by Palestinians, Israel Radio reported.
Meanwhile, Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was quoted as saying Friday that the United States should pressure the Palestinians financially in order to make the Palestinian Authority dismantle "terror infrastructure."
Sharon, talking to Republican congressmen Thursday night, said that the U.S. should also pressure Syria to stop transferring aid to Palestinian groups. He added that Europe needs to declare Hamas and Islamic Jihad as "terror" organizations in order to stop the flow of funds to these groups.
