ALBAWABA- In a significant development, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urgently called for an end to the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the escalating risks of disease and epidemics in Gaza. 

Guterres expressed deep concern about the unprecedented destruction and hunger faced by the residents of Gaza, with humanitarian organizations struggling to deliver essential aid amid challenging inspections and Israeli refusals.

 The Secretary-General highlighted the ongoing difficulties in obtaining entry visas for dozens of humanitarian workers, underscoring the urgent need for a ceasefire. 

He warned of the dangers posed to relief workers by the remnants of war in Gaza and reiterated the call for a two-state solution to bring lasting peace to the region, emphasizing the Israeli denial of Palestinians' right to establish their state as a prolonging factor in the conflict.
