An Israeli statement said since the restaurant shooting, the local intelligence agency Shin Bet and the Israeli Military Intelligence Division have collected information, which allegedly pointed to the gunmen being holed up in an apartment inside the camp, in an area known as Aqbat Jaber. They said the gunmen were assisted by family members and residents in that area.
On Jan. 28, a Palestinian gunman fired only one shot inside the restaurant, but that his weapon jammed. No injuries were reported.
