ALBAWABA - In a second deferment, local elections in Israel have been rescheduled to take place on February 27, attributing the delay to ongoing hostilities.
Originally slated for October 31, the elections were first pushed to January 30 in the aftermath of Israel's offensive in Gaza. According to reports from Israeli media outlets, the government sought the military's assessment on the feasibility of conducting the elections by the end of January.
The Israeli military underscored the challenge, revealing that numerous individuals vying for local positions were actively serving as reserve soldiers, rendering it impractical to grant them leave for electoral participation.
In response to this predicament, the Israeli cabinet opted for another extension, finalizing the new date for the local elections on February 27
