ALBAWABA- A diplomatic delegation from the European Union, Arab, and Asian nations came under Israeli fire on Wednesday while visiting the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.

The group, which included diplomats from Egypt, Turkey, France, and Italy, was on an official mission to assess the humanitarian situation in the camp amid an ongoing Israeli military campaign that has stretched into its fourth month, causing widespread casualties and displacement.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry condemned the incident "in the strongest terms," confirming that an employee of its consulate general in Jerusalem was among those targeted.

France and Italy also summoned the Israeli ambassador to express concern, while the Palestinian Authority and several countries described the shooting as a blatant violation of diplomatic protections.

The Israeli military claimed that its soldiers fired warning shots after the delegation allegedly deviated from an agreed route and entered an unauthorized zone.

No injuries were reported, though videos circulating online show the diplomats giving interviews before being forced to flee as shots rang out nearby.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack as a "heinous crime" and accused Israeli forces of deliberately firing live rounds at an accredited diplomatic mission.
