Five Palestinian activists and a child were killed in the West Bank and Gaza Strip by the Israeli army.
The boy, Mahamoud al-Qayed, was killed by a shell fired by an Israeli tank in the Gaza Strip near the Israeli agricultural community of Nahal Oz while hunting for birds with a net and string, a witness and medics said.
Witnesses said a Palestinian man was killed by Israeli forces during an exchange of fire early Friday, when troops entered a house near El Moghazi refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources said an armoured column moved several hundred metres inside the area within the Palestinian autonomous zone following exchanges of fire early Friday. An Israeli military spokesman said a "small-scale" operation had been launched after shots were fired at Israeli soldiers. The occupation forces withdrew from the village several hours later.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian injured by Israeli fire near the village of Huzaa in the southern Gaza Strip died early Friday, Palestinian medical sources said. The man was mortally wounded by a tank shell and his body was taken to a hospital in the village near Khan Younes, the sources said, according to AFP. Another Palestinian man was killed in this incident.
Medical sources said rescuers did not arrive for an hour as the Israeli army refused to allow ambulances through.
At least nine other Palestinians and a female Jewish settler were wounded late Thursday in exchanges of fire in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian security and Israeli military sources said. This incident occurred when Palestinians fired five mortar shells at Gadid, a Jewish settlement near the town of Khan Yunis, the sources told AFP.
The Israeli woman was lightly wounded by the gunfire, said an Israeli military spokesman.
In the West Bank, Israeli troops shot dead two members of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades during clashes in the cities of Nablus and Jenin late Friday, Palestinian medical sources said. (Albawaba.com)
