Israeli forces detained at least eight Palestinians from across the occupied West Bank overnight Tuesday, local sources and the Israeli army said.
The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said that three Palestinians were detained in Tulkarem district.
They were identified as Karam Taysir Ahmad Jarab, 20, Waed Shahir Muhammad Rizqallah, 23, and Dahir Muhammad abu-Dayyah.
An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed only one detention in southeast Tulkarem.
She said that Israeli forces also detained one Palestinian in southwestern Jenin, two in northern Ramallah, one in southeastern Ramallah, and one in northeastern Bethlehem.
She said that the man detained in Jenin was a "Hamas operative," while the other five were apprehended for "illegal activity."
Israeli forces routinely detain Palestinians throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem, often on the pretext of perceived security threats, and Addameer estimates that 40 percent of the Palestinian male population has been arrested at some point.
Nearly 6,000 Palestinian prisoners are currently being held in Israeli jails.
