The Israeli air-force struck a suspected military facility in the Gaza Strip Thursday, after gunfire struck two Israeli homes just north of the Hamas ruled Palestinian enclave on Wednesday.

According to Israel Radio, none were injured in the Wednesday incident in Nativ Ha'Ashra, nor were there any reports of injuries or deaths following the airstrike on Thursday.

The head of the Ashkelon regional council, Yair Farjoun, demanded that the government take measures to increase security.

"We are unable to reconcile with the threats against our lives and with routine of urgency," Farjoun told Israel Radio.

The possibility that Wednesday's gunfire was the result of deliberate sniping from the Gaza Strip is being investigated.

Meanwhile, the IDF has instructed residents of Nativ Ha'Ashra to stay away from windows facing Gaza.
