Israeli forces escalated their aggression against Palestinian people in the West Bank city of Nablus, killing seven, occupying tens of houses and holding hundreds of civilians, witnesses and Palestinian security sources said.
Palestinian sources reported that six fighters, members of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, were killed after troops hurled a grenade into a hidden room where the Palestinians were hiding. The six were identified as Nisdal al Wawi, 35, Wajdi al Qadummi, Samer Aquba, Umar Mismar, Jaafar al Masri and Nayef Abu Sharakh who was the commander of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in the city.
Earlier, another Palestinian fighter was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the city, Israel Radio reported Saturday.
On Friday, two Palestinians were killed and another was wounded by Israeli fire in two separate incidents in the city.
Witnesses said that Israeli soldiers on Satursday stormed and occupied more than 20 houses, turning them to military posts. Israeli soldiers occupied the apartment building of Fraitach and several other houses in the al-Basha, Ras el-A'in streets. The Israeli snipers took positions atop building and the compound of new municipality, witnesses said. (albawaba.com)
