Israel tightens security measures after Arad and Dimona attacks

ALBAWABA - Israel announced new restrictions in several southern regions after declaring that more than 170 people were injured in attacks in southern Israel on Saturday night in attacks on Arad and Dimona cities.

A video was shared online showing an Iranian missile escaping the Iron Dome defense system and directly striking a residential area in northern Israel. 

The Health Ministry said that in the past 24 hours, 303 people were hospitalized amid attacks from Iran and Hezbollah.

In addition, The Times of Israel reported Sunday that one person was killed in a Hezbollah attack near the northern border.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that, according to the new instructions that went into effect this morning, gatherings of no more than 50 people will be permitted in areas where a safe zone is accessible. Additionally, classes at educational institutions will not be allowed.

The authority added that following the rocket attacks on Dimona and Arad, the Home Front Command conducted a situation assessment and decided to tighten restrictions in the Negev, Lachish, and Dead Sea regions.

Education Minister Yoav Kisch announced that no classes would be held nationwide on Monday. He said this decision was made after consultation with the Home Front Command chief.
