ALBAWABA - The Wall Street Journal reported citing American and Western officials, Israel is highly expected to launch an attack against Iran on Monday to respond to the latter's Saturday night drone attack.

According to the American newspaper, the officials confirmed that the US objects to Israel's possible reckless response to Iran stressing that the US will not participate in any action that might lead to an escalation of the conflict.

Officials further told the Wall Street Journal on Sunday that the US, the UK, and France have joined Israel in confronting Iranian missiles and drones, noting that 99 percent of Iranian missiles and drones were shot down.

Nonetheless, American officials estimated that about 50 percent of Iranian ballistic missiles "failed to launch or crashed in flight" before they reached their target.

This comes amid an Axios report on Sunday that the Biden administration continues to secretly and publicly urge Israel "not to rush to retaliate."
