Israeli media said Wednesday that the Foreign Ministry had ordered the families of its diplomats in Turkey to leave that country because of the growing crisis over Israel's deadly naval raid on a Gaza Strip-bound aid flotilla. Israeli newspapers added the diplomatic mission itself will remain in Turkey.

At least four Turkish activists were among the nine killed by Israeli commando forces in the raid early Monday on an international flotilla bringing aid to Gaza.

Meanwhile, dozens of pro-Palestinian activists seized during the Israeli raid said upon arriving in Jordan Wednesday that they were roughed up and humiliated before Israel deported them. According to the AP, the 124 activists from 12 Islamic nations crossed the Allenby Bridge aboard five Jordanian buses. "The Israelis roughed up and humiliated all of us — women, men and children," said Kuwaiti lawmaker Walid al-Tabtabai.
