Israel kills three Palestinian children in Gaza

An Israeli strike targeting a car likely carrying Palestinian activists in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening killed three children and injured 13 other people, Palestinian witnesses and medics said. One of the victims was identified as six-year-old Mohammed Jamal Shukri Ruqa. The seond victim was a girl, identified as Samia Muhammed Sharif, 5. The third victim was identified as Bilal al Husa, 16

 

Most of the wounded were children. Two of them were in serious condition.

 

The Israeli army said the air strike was targeting armed men from Fatah faction involved in Qassam rocket attacks on southern Israel.

 

The strike took place on a narrow and crowded commercial street in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City. The activists reportedly jumped clear of the vehicle just before it was hit.

 

Hundreds of angry Palestinians gathered around the car, caliing for revenge. Khalil Roqa, a cousin of the dead child, said he was sitting in front of his car repair shop while the children played in front of the house nearby.
