The official warned that Israel has conveyed a message to Lebanese authorities that it “may target Beirut’s southern suburbs again” if Hezbollah is not disarmed.

ALBAWABA- The Israeli army announced that its air force had killed Muhammad Ali Hadid, a senior Hezbollah commander and head of the group’s Rizwan Force unit, in an airstrike on Lebanon’s southern Nabatieh district.

According to the army statement, Hadid was eliminated in a precision strike carried out by an Israeli drone. Lebanese media, including Al-Mayadeen, reported multiple Israeli raids on southern towns, including Aita al-Shaab and Al-Duwair, resulting in casualties, the destruction of several vehicles, and damage to nearby commercial shops.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli warplanes and reconnaissance drones continued to fly over the skies of northern Israel and southern Lebanon, increasing fears of further escalation along the border.

Amid the rising tensions, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun urged dialogue over confrontation, stressing that Lebanon “has no choice but negotiation, not with a friend or ally, but with an enemy.” He added, “The language of negotiation is more important than the language of war, which has only brought devastation. Every war eventually ends with dialogue.”

Meanwhile, an Israeli official told Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath that intelligence assessments indicate Hezbollah has begun to restore much of its military capacity and has successfully smuggled “hundreds of short-range missiles” from Syria.

The official warned that Israel has conveyed a message to Lebanese authorities that it “may target Beirut’s southern suburbs again” if Hezbollah is not disarmed.

The latest strikes mark a significant escalation in the Israel-Hezbollah confrontation, which has intensified since the Gaza war.
