Authorities in Israel authorities recently intercepted Iranian medical and food aid sent to the Palestinian territories from Jordan wrapped in "propaganda" material, humanitarian groups in Amman said Thursday.

The aid was dispatched recently from Tehran to Amman, where it was added to a convoy of humanitarian relief that crossed the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge to the West Bank, the sources told AFP

Israeli officials at the bridge searched the trucks and found that the paper wrappings of the first lot of Iranian aid was covered with "Iranian propaganda," an aid worker conveyed.

The source did not know exactly what that propaganda was.

The paper wrappings were also carried with "praise for the Hizbullah", Lebanon's Iranian-backed anti-Israeli resistance movement.

The Israeli authorities confiscated the Iranian aid, the aid worker added.

Back in Amman, the Jordanian authorities checked the remaining Iranian aid destined for the Palestinians and found that the boxes containing food and medical supplies were likewise papered in "propaganda".

The "offensive" wrapping will be removed before the remaining Iranian aid is sent to the West Bank, the aid worker concluded. (Albawaba.com)
