ALBAWABA - The Jerusalem Post revealed citing a source that a three-stage ceasefire deal that contains the release of Israeli hostages was agreed by Israel.
The Israeli parties are now awaiting Hamas’ response to the proposed deal, Israeli media said on Monday as talks are ongoing in Doha, Qatar. On Sunday, an Israeli delegation including Mossad head David Barnea, Shin Bet head Ronen Bar, and IDF Maj.-Gen. (res.) Nitzan Alon headed to Doha for talks on a possible ceasefire deal in Gaza and ending over one year of war.
The source said: "The hostage deal outline is clear, and Israel has come a long, long way. We are moving forward slowly and carefully. We hope that Hamas will stop with its refusals."
The Israeli official continued to say that talks are likely to be heading in "a positive direction," he added: "But [we] must be careful. We know this from past experiences."
The United States is battling time to reach a deal in Gaza before Jan. 20 when current President Joe Biden will leave office for President-elect Donald Trump.
The Israeli delegation held talks with two senior US officials; White House Middle East Coordinator Brett McGurk, and Steve Witkoff, the incoming Middle East envoy for Trump.
