The Israeli army launched two air raids on the Gaza Strip overnight after a rocket from the Palestinian enclave struck the Jewish state.
A statement on Sunday released by the army said: "Two terrorist activity sites in the north and central parts of the Gaza Strip were attacked and hit.”
The attacks were launched in response to a rocket fire from the Gaza Strip towards southern Israel, the statement added.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
An overnight attack on Gaza last Wednesday left a woman and four children injured, sources said.
Israel considers the Gaza Strip a hostile entity because the Islamic group Hamas rules there, and because militants in the seaside territory have carried out attacks on Israel.
