ALBAWABA - Israeli media announced that the Israeli army has shot down some Iranian drones in the Syrian airspace.

This comes as the Israel war cabinet is holding a meeting in a fortified underground building in the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv.

Iran has launched about 100 drones against Israel in response to the attack on its consulate in Syria killing seven IRGC members.

The Israeli army said that it is ready to shoot down Iranian drones which are expected to reach Tel Aviv's airspace in a few hours.

The Iranian television confirmed that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's attack just began with drones launched against targets in the occupied territories.

Israeli airspace is closed until 7 a.m. on Sunday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority said on Saturday night.

Both Jordan and Iraq have also announced the temporary closure of their airspace amid fears of growing tension in the region. Jordan also declared a state of emergency in all cities amid growing tension in the region.
