Israeli warplanes bombed 20 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip early Friday, entering its seventh day of offensive against Hamas.

Before dawn, Israeli aircraft hit 15 houses belonging to Hamas members, Palestinians said. They added the Israelis either warned nearby residents by phone or fired a warning missile. At least 12 people were wounded in the attacks, hospital officials said.

Israeli aircraft late Thursday struck a mosque in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. Israel said the mosque had served as a center of operations for Hamas as a meeting place for its operatives.

Meanwhile, Palestinian gunners fired four rockets at the city of Ashkelon on Friday morning. A few minutes later, two other rockets landed in the Israeli terrirtory. A woman was lightly wounded by shrapnel in one of the incidents and several people were treated for shock.
