ccALBAWABA - Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee posted on X on Wednesday, announcing a "temporary" new route for residents to leave Gaza City.

The announcement came one day after the Israeli army announced the launch of the ground invasion of Gaza City after a massive bombardment that was carried out against the city.

The Israeli military announced "the opening of a temporary transportation route via Salah al-Din Street", "the route will be open for 48 hours only".

At this stage, travel via this route will be available for 48 hours, starting today, Sept. 17, at 12:00 P.M. until Friday, Sept. 19, at 12:00 P.M.

Adraee also wrote that people should only be using the streets that are marked in yellow on the map as southbound.

Yesterday, Adraee said the Israeli military gained confirmation on Monday night to officially start the ground invasion of Gaza City, as part of a bigger plan to occupy the strip.

He called on all Gaza City residents to leave immediately, and announced that Gaza City is officially a dangerous combat zone.
