Leader of Israel’s Meretz party, Yossi Sarid, is scheduled to meet Palestinian President Yasser Arafat on Sunday in Ramallah, reported Haaretz newspaper.
The meeting was originally planned for last Sunday, but was postponed after a bomb blast in the Israeli city of Kfar Saba, near Qalaqilya on the Green Line border.
Israel Radio quoted Sarid as saying that he was interested in promoting a plan intended to ease the violence, in exchange for Israel halting the building and expansion of settlements. According to Sarid, "this is the fairest and most useful plan for the current situation, and the majority of the Israeli and Palestinian public approve of it." – Albawaba.com
