ALBAWABA - Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh met with Turkey's foreign minister on Sunday, diplomatic sources said, marking the first official contact between the two in more than three months.
According to sources, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Haniyeh on Saturday in Turkey. According to the source, the two sides talked about "increasing humanitarian aid, and a two-state solution for a permanent peace" during their meeting.
Haniyeh and Fidan had previously been in contact in a phone call on October 16.
Protests across Israel
Massive protests have been taking over the streets of Tel Aviv, demanding Netanyahu's government to work toward returning their loved ones who were taken hostage by Hamas on October 7.
Netanyahu is under intense pressure to secure the return of the hostages seized by Hamas on October 7, with the militant group on Monday announcing the deaths of two more of its captives.
