The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani received at his Emiri Diwan office on Monday Izzat Ibrahim, Vice-President of the Iraqi Revolution Command Council, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the Heir Apparent Sheikh Jassem bin Hamad al Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al Thani, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor al Thani, Chief of the Emiri Diwan Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud al Thani, and the Iraqi Ambassador to the State Fakhri Hamoud al-Delaimi also participated in the meeting.

According to QNA, the existing relations of cooperation between the two countries and means of strengthening them were discussed along with the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.

Ibrahim, currently on a tour to mobilize Arabs against a US strike on Baghdad, said in Doha on Monday that the row over UN arms inspectors would be resolved through dialogue with the United Nations, AFP reported

His talks with Qatar's Emir, just hours after US Vice President Dick Cheney left Qatar, "covered all regional developments and not just the Iraq question," Baghdad's ambassador Fakhri Hamudi Dlimi told the News Agency.

The Iraqi official has already visited Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt in addition to the UAE. He is due to continue on to Bahrain on Tuesday, according to officials in Manama. (Albawaba.com)
