A roadside bomb nearly missed a car carrying Christopher Hill, the US ambassador to Iraq late Sunday night. The ambassador was in a US State Department convoy in the southern Iraqi city of Nasiriya.
“There was a bang and then we went through a thick cloud of smoke… We are all fine,” Hill told the USA Today. It was not clear whether the bomb was intended for Mr. Hill.
