Two bombs inside a mosque in Iraq's Samarra has killed 15 people, according to Reuters. 17 more individuals were wounded. Iraq in recent months has witnessed a spike in sectarian violence, reaching its highest level since 2008, according to BBC. More than 5,000 people have died in Iraq this year, 800 of them in August alone, according to the United Nations.
