Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's coalition came top in provincial elections held two weeks ago, according to results released on Saturday.
Maliki's Shia-led State of Law coalition won the largest single bloc of seats in seven out of 12 provinces in the first election held since US troops withdrew from Iraq in late 2011.
However, the coalition failed to win a majority in any of the districts, meaning it will need alliances to hold onto senior provincial posts.
Its main rival, the Sunni-dominated Iraqiya bloc, suffered poor results.
The results announced on Saturday showed little change to preliminary results released last week.
Observers say the results give an indication of political support ahead of next year's parliamentary elections.
