Iraqi officials are reporting that at least 5 people have been killed in two separate explosions in towns near Baghdad.
A police officer has told AP that a car bomb exploded in the town of Musayyib on Wednseday, killing 3 civilians and leaving 14 wounded. The explosion happened in a resedential part of the town, which is situated around 60 km south of the capital.
A second police officer told the agency that a bomb had exploded at a restaurant in Madain, leaving 2 people dead and wounding 11. The town's 20 km southeast of Baghdad.
Security is a major concern for the Iraqi army, with frequent bomb attacks adding to the instability in the country.
