A series of suicide bombings and car and roadside bombs across Iraq killed at least 17 people on Monday, medical and police sources told Reuters news agency.
The deadliest attack took place in the city of Baiji, 180 km north of Baghdad, where four bombers wearing explosive belts took over a police station, police sources told Reuters news agency.
A curfew has been declared in Baiji after the attack released dozens of prisoners, an Al Arabiya correspondent reported.
In Baghdad, two car explosions in al-Bayaa and al-Nahda areas caused several causalities.
A series of explosions also rocked the neighborhoods of al-Salhiya, al-Karada, al-Sadriya, al-Husainiyah, al-Aaalam quarter and the Mohammad al-Qassem motorway.
